As mentioned previously, I was in Taos, New Mexico to attend an artist’s retreat called “A Case of Curiosities” arranged and taught by Seth Apter and Roxanne Evans Stout. It was an absolutely unforgettable week. Not only was the venue, staff and accommodations fabulous, but every single class project was better than the one or two from the day before. All the projects were definitely outside my wheelhouse but I loved the process and the play and was happy with my completed pieces. Most importantly, I felt like I grew as an artist. All the people that attended class were so very kind, generous and talented. Honestly, I could have stayed there so much longer. We had sunny days, rain days and a few snowy days. For an Arizona girl, it was fabulous to experience all of them in one week. Thought I would post a few (ha!) pictures today so that you might get a taste of what I enjoyed last week. The first pic is my completed “case” of projects.
This wrap on the rusty jar was one of my favorite projects, though I have to say I loved them all. I just enjoyed the freedom to do randomness when wrapping. No rules, just got to make it up as I went along. I made 6 bracelets and a headband after this class.
The buffalo run…so glad I went! I have a video on my instagram.
So many more pics but I will stop for now. I’m certain that a few more will pop up now and then because, as you can tell, there was just so much beauty there.
