Home is Where Mary’s Heart Is…

19 Jun

Today I thought I would take you on a partial tour of Mary Engelbreit’s beautiful home since I was fortunate enough to see it this past weekend.  Every little detail in each and every room was amazing. So many pictures, so little room and time so  I’ll do a quick recap on a few rooms.   I will share her home art studio later this week because that was my absolute favorite and you won’t want to miss it!  But for now,  let me show you  the “Queen of Everything’s” home. Yes, it is everything you ever imagined it was…and more!  It was quaint, charming and so full of Mary’s art and style.

This is Mary and Cathe Holden at the front door. Everything about this was pretty amazing.  Loved the decorative wood pieces! The house was built in the 1940’s but Mary and her husband pretty much made this home a labor of love. They have lived here for 10 years.

One of the many pretty decorated pots…

And then there was the kitchen with a fireplace! Love.

The living room walls were painted red, of course! Look at the painting around the built-ins! Ahhhhh!

So now I guess I’m going to have to collect these trays! Don’t they look fantastic against the red wall? Wonder if Mary is a “junker”?  Lol.

The mantel decor was beautiful.

And Mary had purchased and displayed two pieces of Cathe Holden’s assemblages. Here is one with the scotty. Oh my gosh. Love this!

Each unique decor piece seemed to be perfectly placed. And those mushrooms…you just wait! There’s more!

Sitting in the library or family room and swooning over the interior decor. Honestly, was I really there or was this a big, fat dream?

The spare room lacked nothing. Take a look at that cool light fixture! Never seen one of those before.

I have to admit that Mary’s master bedroom was one of my favorite rooms downstairs. Something about the white wainscoting and that shade of yellow. All the vignettes housed so many interesting  treasures.

So I better stop here for now. There is way more but I’ll save that for another time. And just so you know, we asked Mary before taking pictures and got her approval. Never want to cross an inappropriate line. She was so kind and gracious. Fairly certain, we wore her out but she was good about all of it.
Check back later this week for Mary’s art studio…the real, working one!

XO,

Debi
