I am very excited as I enter a new phase in blogging. I have wanted to do this for so long but never had the time, energy and even passion after working full time. So, what’s changed? Priorities. Bottom line. I continue to work full time but I am eliminating some things outside of that to be intentional here. With those changes, I want to share with you the mindset behind what I envision when you come to Doodles in my Sketchpad.
A lot of you already know I love art… A LOT. I have been inspired, coached, mentored, supported, encouraged and taught by so many fantastic friends, family members, artists, and co-workers (not to mention God). None of my gifts would amount to much without these people. I have made it my goal this year to give back. It doesn’t really matter if I return it to the same people, although that would be ideal, I just think it’s time for me personally to pay it forward. I have been so blessed and received so much. If you are one of the many that have played a role in where I am today, I want to say “thank you”. Your effort and kindness has touched me in ways you will never know. So the sentiment I wrote above is my reminder that EVERY day (& that is not even promised to me) is an opportunity that I can help someone out. If it’s teaching them art, so be it. My pleasure for sure. Pretty sure I will be on the receiving end of the blessing yet again. If it’s babysitting or writing a note, I will make this my priority. Will I fail trying to do it everyday? Probably. But I have a new day to pick up and start again. I figure I’m way ahead of what I didn’t do last year even if I only do 1/4 of what I hope to do. So now on Mondays I will share with you what talents I’ve been given. Truly they aren’t mine at all and I don’t own them, that’s for sure. They were meant to be shared. I’m going to love seeing what you create. Perhaps your projects will be for someone else too and the kindness will passed on. So there you have it. That’s my mission. Wait for my new word for the New Year! Lol! Coming soon!

hey…. that is so awesome of you! i make up my own quotes from my heart too! and that is fun to see where that and paint and water and especially flourishes and florals will get me… My desire doing this is also to comfort the low and to have "those" cards to aid somebody who has the unfortunate situation to buy them.. BuT if there is one wish i would have… i wish i could HanD them out to sorrowing hearts… not ask for payment.. but life wouldnt be reality if we could… take care and enjoy the journey…:)

Aw! Thanks "glow" for your comment. We all are in different places in our lives. For now your job is to sell your cards. Perhaps in the future you will be able to hand them out…maybe every now and then you could slip one out:). You have a kind heart to care so much.
