And the Winners Are….

19 Apr

I am so happy to announce that the winners of my contest are….

****Michelle Stuart

****Sonia Houghton

Congratulations ladies!!

E-mail me your addresses and I will get your dies/stamps in the mail.

Always love starting off a Monday with something good!  And today, I am adding to that “goodness” with another project for Motivation Monday.  I am introducing you to one of the die and stamp sets in my line of “Quite Contrary” by Spellbinders called Floral Divine.  I want to show you another way to stamp and watercolor.  (Can I just say I love the color pallet here. It was a Kate Spade/Hallmark inspired combo.)  As you can see, I used Stephanie Bernard‘s Color Box ink for stamping.  I love this ink because it is very wet.  I get an awesome stamp impression every time.  I also used Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers (blue).  Love them both!

The  picture above shows the first flower and leaf I stamped on the left of the white paper.  I then used my watercolor brush to add color to the flower and leaf.  No dipping in the ink is necessary.  All the color comes from the inked impression.  Oh, and hey,  it’s OK to color outside the lines here!  Reality is, it looks more playful that way.  The second flower shows what it looks like when it is colored in but you can try not coloring it all in as seen in flower number 3.  Also, to create a soft background, just lightly touch your water brush into the green ink and puddle around the flower.  Try not to get to close to the pink flower because it will bleed some. This stamp set also includes dies that match the impressions.  No fussy-cutting needed!

Here is the card I created from watercoloring and stamping.  I added my sentiment cut from gold poster board and a few sequins for added interest.

Now if you want to take it just a bit further, try adding touches of pink glitter as seen above.  This so reminds me of the 1960’s-70’s Hallmark cards.  Ah…aging me here!
So that’s it for Monday.  Just had to add one more pic of the cake I created last week on the Spellbinders’ Blog because it matches this card oh so well!
Hope I have brought you some fun ways to create with stamps and dies.  See instructions for the flowers on my cake here.
XO,
Debi
