Monday’s Motivation

3 May

Well friends, it’s been a fabulous weekend for me and actually just ended this afternoon.  (This might  explain why I am so very late with this post.)  Anyway, it was a well needed creative retreat with some incredibly talented friends.  Spending time with Sharyn Sowell, Brenda Walton, Cathe Holden and Wanda Guess, along with Brenda’s friends Gina and her sweet mom, Vicki was THE best. Oh and I must mention Brenda’s husband Doug who waited on us hand and foot and drove us everywhere!   We made bracelets and stenciled texture paste onto boxes,  designed art with pressed flowers and spent all day Saturday making softies from our own imaginative patterns.;).  Lots of laughter and so much kindness poured out from that place.  Loved the time we shared and will never forget it.

Anyhow, today I am showcasing a project I made that Spellbinders featured on their blog last week.  What I love most about this piece is that all levels of “makers” can do this.

If you don’t or can’t draw, tear a page out of your coloring book and add one of my tissue paper flowers to the top of the page.  The directions for the Anemone or Positively Peony Flower are found here and you can purchase it here.  You can also add the petals to the base flower that is shown, by using hot glue.  Whatever is easiest for you.

Additionally, the Daisy flower is a die found in my line “Quite Contrary” by Spellbinders. The instructions for the Daisy are found here.

Feeling a little adventurous? Try doing some pen and ink…
And for those of you who like to paint like me, sketch out your pattern with a watercolor graphite pencil and then paint away!  I used acrylics to color mine.
Now MY only problem is finding a place to hang it.  So much junkin’ from the past has left me little room to hang decor.  When I find a spot, I will show you “The gallery”.  For now,  I hope that I have inspired  you to dive in.  What are you waiting for?
XO,
Debi
