For those of you who are my friends via fb or instagram, you probably noticed I have been in New York City for the National Stationery Show (NSS) and Surtex. It has been an amazing experience. The amount of art here has been mind blowing. I have come back to the hotel at night completely exhausted. My brain is literally overflowing. It’s not so much in the art galleries, though those have been lovely too, it has been in the things I have seen in everyday life. How wide are your eyes? What things have you been looking at that are not quite as they appear? I thought I would post a few pictures here that are unusual or just unusually beautiful. Though I am anxious to go home now, I really can’t wait to come back again. Silly I know, but there is just so much to do and see. Oh, and wait! Let me explain the picture above. I am one big scaredy cat. I came to NYC alone. Though I have been here before, I have never tried getting around by myself. I can check that off my bucket list now! I got from the airport to the hotel fine (well almost fine…lol! Long story. ) My biggest fear however, was figuring out and riding the subway. BRAVE! I did it. And, best yet, it wasn’t so scary!
A view from High Line. A must do for anyone coming here.
Some art along High Line.
Love the blending of the old and the new….
Hmmm…and even a self-silhouette! Creativity is everywhere. Love how the foliage shows through the walkway where my shadow is cast.
A brick wall on Highline.
Love this look.
Well there you have it. I have way more pictures but these are the ones I’m leaving here today. I want to encourage you to look at things differently today.
XO,
Debi
