So I made this “Box of Sunshine” awhile back as an idea for a teacher’s end-of-the year gift but it can be designed for anyone. Maybe someone who is ill or feeling really stressed might appreciate it too. Anyway, the concept and contents are super cute and lots of fun. The amount of time and money you spend doing this is up to you!
The little banner was made with Spellbinder’s dies but I purchased the Thicker Stickers for the sentiment at Hobby Lobby. It saved on time and added dimension to the banner.
I included fun summer-type candy into push-pop containers and made snickerdoodles in the shape of sand dollars.
The pinwheel cookies (here) are my absolutely favorite cookie to make for gift giving because they just scream “happy”! A pair of sunglasses, some paper straws, balloons and a shovel are all tucked inside this decorative box. You could also add flip-flops, a tank top, a beach ball, whatever you think would be good for summer. It’s been a while since I’ve made one of these so I think it’s about time to make another. What about you? It always feels so good to give something away especially when you put time and thought into it. Kindness matters especially to those who have none to give in return. Leaving you with that thought today. :).

Debi
