This Memorial weekend I was so honored to be asked to do the flowers for my one of my daughter’s best friends’ wedding. (Thus the no Monday Motivation today). It’s always such a privilege and blessing to do them as I find much joy in creating, especially for someone I know. Both the venue and the church were beautiful places. The colors that the bride chose were so unusual but so fantastic. The flowers against the dresses were absolutely amazing. Honestly, I don’t know if I would have been as brave as Inge to have stepped out of that color box, but the colors were just stunning! So now for the photos…there are kind of a lot of them but I wanted to showcase the event and the venue. The reception was at Plaza de Magdalena, San Juan Capistrano.
I know this picture is blurry but it was the only one that I have and it was sent to me. Look at those bridesmaids dresses! What a color combination!
Warning: Detour Ahead…
Here are the flower pictures…
These are hypericum berries. Love!
Garden Roses in such a beautiful shade of yellow-orange. Pink peonies…swoon…and dusty miller.
Love the touch of the blue-purple hydrangeas and monte casino :). I buy all my flowers from the L.A. Mart and I have my favorite vendors. It means getting up and getting there between 5 and 7 a.m. Ah, but the choices are so worth it!
This was the head table arrangement. So fresh!
Table arrangements with the very fragrant stocks and peonies, hypericum and monte casino.
Bridesmaids bouquets.
These were the flowers that were hung from the pews.
Sometimes it’s the simple things.. classic, elegant, organic :).
Loved these table numbers with the wood.
And “finally” the cake. It was plain and someone asked me to decorate it. Well, as many of you know, you only have to ask me once to do that :). Hope you enjoyed my view of the wedding. Next one will be the end of July! Hmmm, maybe I should start a business???
XO,
Debi

I am in complete awe of your floral talents, both in choice of flowers and foliage, and the final art. The bride's color scheme couldn't be more perfect for an end of spring/early summer event. How sweet and modest the cake, just lovely. Thanks for sharing just one more of your mad creative skills.

Thank you Seth. Don't even ask to see the aftermath of my creativity. I'm going with the saying that "Creative people are rarely tidy". ?
