Wow, another Monday has come around and today I’m bringing you another holiday card to do for the 4th of July but really, it is a good all occasion card too! I will be dabbling with a bit of watercolor, my favorite go-to these days, glittered poly foam, as well as a splattering of sequins. Taking this card from it’s simple design to creating another that is layered and dimensional is always my goal. You will need a watercolor brush, two water-based ink pads, sequins, foam felt and this stamp set and these dies, Hip Hip Hooray and Shining Star by Spellbinders.
To get started, I just watercolored onto mixed media paper two different colors of ink.
Then I added my sentiment.
I die-cut my “Hooray” from glittered poly foam and from white cardstock and adhered them to my card base.
A splattering of ink with a watered down brush and a sprinkling of sequins wrapped up this card.
Now, if you want to take it one step further, before adhering the die-cut sentiment in place, die-cut the Shining Star from poly foam and adhere it to card base. Place Hooray sentiment across the top of the Shining Star and glue in place. And, there you have it. Just change up the colors, or not, and you could easily have a birthday or congratulatory card! The possibilities are endless. Oh, if only I could play all day. Would love to see what you’ve been up to :).
XO,
Debi
