Monday’s Thought-Be Happy

21 Nov

I know, Monday already?  But guess what?  You get to choose how you want it to be.  So I am going to start Monday and this week with “happy”.  It may not end up being all that but it’s always a good place to start.   I am owning it and have created a project embracing that sentiment.  This project is similar to one I created a while back but I changed it up to add a few more colors and highlighted it in a different type of  frame. You can make this project using mixed-media paper, gold poster board, watercolors, ink, my Cacti, Be/So Hex dies, and Thoughts stamps from Spellbinders all found here.

dsc_7921Die-cut  and watercolor all the cacti and flowers then attach them to a solid circle of colored paper. Attach those to another piece of mixed-media paper.   Die-cutting the sentiment from gold poster board gave this piece a clean and classy look.  You can choose the stamped sentiment you want from my Thoughts set. They coordinate with the “Be”.  Notice I added just a tad of a shadow with light brown watercolor at the bottom of the cacti and even under the sentiment. This small technique makes the images stand out that much more.   The frame was purchased at a local hobby store at 50% off.  From there, I adhered the art piece to the front of the frame. Super easy and very quick.  Makes a great Christmas gift:).  Hope you will give it a try!

XO,

Debi

The shadow, the circle…it is all these small details that elevates your work. Wonderful.

Thanks Seth. I guess it’s the type of OCD (for details) I don’t even think about ;).
