On Friday I pulled this old, work-horse body out of bed, got dressed and drove to “THAT” estate sale because nothing gets my blood flowing better than a good junkin trip. Well that sale was a complete disappointment, down to every rusty nail and dirty wrapper. Turns out that the bank had foreclosed on the original house that was supposed to have a sale too and was striping it as we waited to go through this second house. Unfortunately, the second house did not include the “house” at all. We were all left to pilfer through the yard, that by now had come to look like a regular dumping ground for any and everything. I have been to sales where it was necessary to “dig” and in fact, I rather like some of the “digger” sales, but this one, not so much. I draw the line at some sales and this one was it. Yes I still managed to snag a few “tokens” at a great price but I refuse to dig through….rat droppings. Countless. Done. Over and out. First one in and first one out.
So I would love to say this story had a happy ending and although it did not, I will say it’s like the great fishing or golfing quote “A bad day garage sailing is better than a good day at work”. Lol. End of story. Well not really because I am already hunting for another sale to attend in the future.
XO,
Debi
P.S. That leather cording and those beads, perfect for my trip to Taos! :).
