So yesterday’s teaser brings me to these treasures and bargains! What an amazing digger sale. I got here on day 2 of the first weekend. Stuff was still pouring out of the yard. Hard to say what was there earlier because I found PLENTY to buy. The prices were fantastic. I am back at it again today but I will show you what I got last weekend. See all this stuff…yep, lots of sweet deals in there!
And this baby…oh yes! I have been waiting and wanting. Paid $15.00 and ran!
And I simply could not pass up this crackled piece for the design alone! $3.00. I felt like a thief.
I had quite the collection going and did not stop. Many items will be for sale at Junk in the Trunk next year!
Loved the drawer with the carved wood on the side and I’m always looking for the patterned tins. Happy I found this one buried under some plain ones.
This picture makes my heart so very happy. Super endearing. Interesting part is the history here. It was hand-painted by an artist who was born in New York, resided in Scottsdale for a while, moved around a bit and now lives in New Mexico. Her name is Emilie Touraine and it was painted in 1964. I won’t even tell you what they charged me. Really, they shouldn’t have. Almost a crime.
And finally, not all of these items came from that sale but the lovely teacup and saucer did. Hard to believe there was some “niceties” in all that rust and metal. I spent a grand total of $25.50 on everything! The costume jewelry came from another sale. $1.00 a pair. Uh, wow!
But here is the one that got away…I failed to ask even though I wanted these metal cabinets. So someone asked later and they went for $25.00 each. G-iv-e-a-w-a-y! How do you spell sick? R-E-G-R-E-T! Next time…
More to come so I hope you check back later.
XO,
Debi

Total score!! I love that pattern too, took me a minute to realize it was from the cracked paint. Gorgeous!

Hello. Can you tell me if you still have the painting of the burro? It’s a long story but I believe this was painted for a very very dear friend who was a friend of Emilie Touraine who lived in jackson Hole, WY where I live. Maybe you might be kind enough to send me a picture of it if you didn’t want to sell. Please contact me if you would. The story behind the painting is interesting…… velo03@gmail.com
