Well I suppose you could guess by the title alone that I have been neglectful of my blog since both days have come and gone, not to mention, it’s been nearly two weeks. Never my intention but sometimes big events, better known as life, take a larger and more necessary role. (You will hear and see more later on that). On the flip side, I’m back and ready to show some pics of my recent treasure hunts. I just visited my daughter and son-in-law in Michigan and we made it a priority to catch a few garage and estate sales. Rarely am I disappointed. Case in point. So take a peek…

Oh, and IF ONLY…This cabinet was calling my name! I so would have brought this back with me if I had a car. Swooning still. Major love. Oh and the prices had gone half price. Be still my heart.
I wanted this rusty tool box too! Cheap but no way to get it home. I was in trouble already for the few things I did purchase.
And of course I collect “French Provincial-style” furniture. These pieces needed some work but they were a great price.
And here is what I actually purchased. The spoons were sterling silver and I got two sets of 3 for $3.00. Robbery.
I got two boxes. One was a cigar box. The other box was a cedar box with lots of engraving. Loved it. Loved the lock and the hinges on it too.
My happiest find were these two Sonie Ames prints. China painting has a special place in my heart, especially roses, since my cousins’ grandma, Esther, was quite prolific at it. Esther had her work published in some fine magazines and she painted some of the loveliest roses I have ever seen. I believe she knew Sonie Ames. They both had a way with color and with making the roses have so much depth and dimension.
