Today I felt it was time to say “thank you” to all of you. I have never experienced so much kindness than what I received this past weekend in my blog comment area after the StencilGirl Blog Hop. And you know what? It didn’t end there! I received sweet words of affirmation on instagram, fb and into the StencilGirl social media platforms, as well as some of the stencil designers themselves. So, THANK YOU! And if all that wasn’t enough, I reached a momentous milestone on instagram (1 K followers) and I want to thank you for that too! For those of you who don’t know me, I am not a numbers girl. I am a people person. I am more concerned about connecting than adding a “point” on any analytical spectrum, though from a business perspective, I completely understand. But as my friend Stephanie Ackerman wrote on her post, “I am not concerned about numbers. I am only responsible to One”, the same goes for me. I am passionate about art, it’s what I love to do and I like people (well, most of the time, lol), irregardless of numbers. I am going to celebrate this fete however, because it is a joyous occasion and not something I created or made happen. So for each person who leaves a comment on my blog, instagram or fb, about why you like to create, you will be entered to win a Main Attraction by Spellbinders, with a total of 5 being given away on Friday.
Have you ever heard of the Main Attraction? It is a trendy magnet that picks up thin metal dies, sewing pins, needles and paper clips and can function as a paper weight as well. No need to be a crafter to own one. And I love the shape. It doesn’t look like a magnet. This was a concept and design idea I came up with after loosing countless little dies at work, never to be seen again. Spellbinders immediately started working on sourcing and producing this little tool and it is literally a staple now. (You can find it here). It will actually SAVE you time & money in the long run. Wave it over all your papers and somehow, those little die guys are attracted to the magnet and come out from hiding. Remember to leave me a comment about why you like creating and you will be entered to win one of these little “gems”, pun intended ;). So, what say you?
XO,
Debi

I craft as therapy!! It fulfills so many needs and uses a bunch of my senses. I can’t imagine my life without it. God placed this need in my heart, too! Thanks for sharing! Xoxo

On the same page Juli! It’s kind of ironic though because my job is crafting too but I take it to a different level at home.

I love going to my ‘happy place’ aka studio, and creating, usually starting with a piece of card and it goes from there. It’s wonderful to see the look on the recipient’s face and I hope my cards have the same affect on the faces I don’t see

I wish I had the time to create. I guess first I would need a nice space, more time and a teacher to create the amazing things I see on your blog. I am at awe of the things people create now. Here’s to retirement.. soon

It makes me happy to create things, especially when they turn out right. When I see something and think, Oh, so and so would love that, that’s what gets me going. I don’t think I’ve ever made anything for myself.. heh I create to make others happy, which makes me happy. Pretty much it. ? ? ?

I love to create because as I do I’m thinking about the details I can add to the card created according to:
the occasion, what I know the person likes or what would bring a smile to their face. Just thinking about their smile as they open up the envelope and see the contents in it makes me smile big.

Papercrafts are my “downtime”. I started as rehab for shoulder surgery, then got hooked on making explosion boxes. I have now ventured into cards and other Papercrafts!
