Hi friends! I am proud to announce that, after having lived in Phoenix for 3 1/2 years, this girl is back in California! It was a big move and it involved a LOT of work but I am so happy to be here!
As some of you may know, I have worked in the craft industry for over 13 years, most recently with a die-cutting manufacturer in Arizona. I have always been fortunate to have had jobs that tapped into my creative skillset and this past one was no exception. I am so grateful that my talent lies in an area where I can actually call it in an occupation too. As in all things in life, there have been ebbs and flows. Things change. Time changes. Directions change. At the end of February, my job changed. After much thought and prayer, (did I say much? I mean a LOT!) I decided to take a new path and aim for self-employment. Though I lack some organizational and technology-based skills, I have a wide band-width within the art and craft industry so I am continuing to stay within that field. It’s scary at my age to be venturing out into a “new” career but I refuse to grow up, give in, stop learning, or stop dreaming. I accumulated much knowledge in all my jobs, learning a little bit about everything, from sales to social media, marketing, e-commerce, stylizing, photography and so on. I truly believe that every experience, whether good or bad, always builds on something else and it gets you to where you need to be. So one of the first things I want to announce on here today is that I WILL be teaching classes! Whoo hoooo! It has been a desire of mine for sometime and now the timing is right. Some classes will be in my home but I will be taking some of my classes on the road too. I will be a regular teacher at Stamp Fever in Orange, Ca. My first class at SF will be a mixed media class and is scheduled for Saturday, June 9th at 10 a.m. (pic below). The mixed media class is going to be a blast as we explore collage-making, painting, stenciling and mark making, etc. This is a great class if you are new to this style of art.
My second class will be a trio of technique-driven cards using one stamp set by Hero Arts, as shown below. Both classes include all materials. Please contact Linda @Stamp Fever for class information and pricing. Linda is one of the nicest women you would want to meet. 🙂
And then Saturday, June 23rd I will be at Paper Tales Pop-Up Store in San Diego with two maker-type classes. I have wanted to teach here for years! My friend and business woman extraordinare, Michelle Magarian is behind this event and I am excited to be a part of anything she dreams up.
July brings two more classes at Stamp Fever in Orange and another one at Paper Tales. Details are still being confirmed so stay tuned. I will list them in my Class section of my website.
In addition to art classes, I am doing freelance work in the area of custom party decor (think banners, party favors, etc.), wedding and event flowers (my specialty) and signs/chalkboard lettering. Feel free to message me anytime if you have any need for these services. I love going outside of the creative box and would love to make your event successful.
Guess that’s it for now but more is coming. Happy to be making some positive changes here. Change can be hard but regret is by far worse. Looking forward to more of 2018. Thanks for stopping in.
XO,
Debi

Thank you Andrea! So sorry you aren’t in the States but one of my big dreams is to teach large again, as in going to other countries. I would love to make it to the UK one day and then hopefully we can meet in person. Again, your sweet words were so kind.
