This past weekend was crazy busy but I so loved it. I rarely slow down because life is so very full! In addition to teaching a mixed media tag class on Saturday, I came home to work on 12 flower arrangements for a baby shower due on Sunday. Even when exhausted, I always manage to find the energy to create when it comes to flowers. I suppose I have a love affair with them and have for sometime. I most likely, always will. (Read about my story here.) Sometimes they cooperate and sometimes they are a challenge (you know, each one is so unique and some can be very temperamental) but it’s always a joy anyway. I do love a pretty party and felt so lucky to have been asked to do this event. The shower was a garden theme done in shades of coral, gray, creams and white and my client and friend wanted a shabby-chic, fresh-cut flower feel. So, let’s start at the beginning…
Adding the presoaked foam…
I generally add my greens next. Others do the flowers first. I feel whatever works for you is fine.
Getting closer…
And then there was this…
Lots of coral roses, Queen Anne’s lace, hypericum berries, daisies, geraniums, silver dollar eucalyptus, chamomile, ranunculus, veronica and snapdragons.
There were smaller arrangements too…
The dahlias were simply stunning!
There is nothing like it when the “Queen” takes center stage…
Even the tiniest of displays have a role…
The title for the shower was “Brunch, Baby, Love”.
And banners and party decor surrounded the venue…
I loved seeing them all lined up on the front porch. I kind of thought they looked like the flowers lining the streets of Paris, but like, really? Lol. Still it made me smile. Wishful thinking I suppose. Hoping the mom-to-be had a wonderful shower and that the flowers added something special to her day.
Wishing you a great week. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day. I recently added a gallery just for my floral designs here on my website. I hope you will check them out as I continuously update them.
XO,
Debi

I enjoy watching someone make a gorgeous
arrangement with a collection of flowers and
a container of any sort. I agonize over
any arrangement I try to make and am never
satisfied. this is an artistic talent that
missed me. Back to the card making.
thanks for sharing
