Liberty and the Bride-to-Be

3 Jul

Some of you may be wondering why would I throw a bridal shower with a patriotic theme? It seems a little odd I suppose.  Well our friend and sweet bride-to-be has a thing for the word “America” (long story) and so my daughters and I thought it would be cool to celebrate her special event in her style and of course, use red, white and blue for the color theme.  Although our intention was not to do it near the 4th of July, it ended up being the date that everyone attend. Obviously, gathering decor was easy BUT trying to tie it in and make it still pretty and bridal-like was the challenge.  Here is what I came up with. What made me the happiest was that Jesika loved it. From the invitation (my daughter did a cute e-vite) to the actual food, everything had a bit of “America” sprinkled throughout it.

Here is the complete display.  Well, let’s just say it’s the main display… I had two others as well.

These napkins with the word “‘Merica” set the whole thing in motion.

This is the drink table.

Of course nothing says “America” better than some USA royal frosting cookies made with of course, love!

Rice Krispie treats are always a big hit so I added a little bit of red, white and blue in the sticks,  candy coating and sprinkles.

Tried my hand at the “naked cake”.  Um, not so good but at least it tasted great :).

Jesika and her bridal party. Can you spy the bride? Lol.  My daughter Lauren is on the left.

And this little cutie is my grandson Zachariah. His momma is Lauren.

Mom and daughter, my sweet friend Sheri and her daughter Jesika.  Jesika and my daughter met through dance years ago and have remained friends.

Had to make some patriotic muddy buddies. Muddy Buddies are like cotton candy.  You just can’t stop eating them!

Fun and festive straws and sunglasses added to the decor.

And as you all know, I love flowers so naturally, I had them at this party. I actually believe they made this look more bridal shower-like than the patriotic 4th.

Saw these on Pinterest and decided I needed to add some healthy options to the dessert table.  These were gone. I guess I made a good choice!

So I guess that’s it. The nice part about this party is that we are having family and friends over for the Fourth and guess what? My place is all ready to go! Hope you all have some amazing plans ahead. Be safe my friends.

XO,

Debi
