Well January came and went without me posting on this amazing wedding! Let me first say I was honored and touched that my daughter’s dear friend, Kristy, would even think to ask me to do her wedding flowers! She is a young, very modern, on trend girl and though we like very similar things especially when it comes to flowers, we are years apart in age. I was so glad she didn’t see that but more of my passion, drive and ability to still see new styles. Speaking of years, I was actually arranging her flowers on my 60th birthday! I can’t imagine doing much of anything else to celebrate that occasion, though I was thrown a surprise party a few weeks later. Anyway, Kristy was looking for dusty rose with pops of hot pink flowers for her wedding. The bridesmaids wore varying shades of dusty rose and Kristy’s vision for the flowers was on point. I will admit I was nervous trying to figure out the “dusty” part and the “pops” part but somehow it all came together. Lol. The girls looked fabulous and Kristy was stunning. She wanted little greens in the bouquets and wanted them freestyle and whimsical. No ball shaped flowers here! Happy to create that!

And the bride and her dad…
And all the pretty maids in a row…albeit a bit of sass in there…
And now the flower vision…photography by me…lol.
Bringing them home… They all actually fit in my car! Don’t ask. I don’t even know how many double dozens of roses I had. 20? 30? Somewhere in there I had 6 foot pussy willow stems.
Cleaning them up…
Yes, at one point I thought I overbought…not. 50 shades of pink. 🙂
Up close and personal…those colors are eye candy.

The cocktail hour and seating chart area. I loved Kristy’s vision with all the ginger jars! Amazing.

From farm (kitchen) to table…
Sweetheart table…Kristy asked for wild baby’s breath everywhere. Later flowers from the church were moved over to add even more ambiance there.
Though I spent days arranging the flowers, I could not have pulled off the day of decor without my dedicated tribe of Betty Young, my assistant (my daughter’s mother-in-love), and my youngest daughter, Alyssa. We worked for 4 hours at the site getting things ready. We may have left exhausted but we left happy. Now, for my house…that’s another post.
XO,
Debi

Really lovely! I work part time at a florist and know the work that goes into flowers. Most people don’t realize how much the cleaning and prep work takes. I can’t even imagine how you kept everything cool and fresh. Great job!
