Hello Monday! It’s time for another My Monthly Hero Kit reveal, Blog Hop and Giveaway. Can I say that July sure got here fast? Still haven’t finished with June. Lol. Anyway, this launch is all about the great outdoors. So perfect as we enter the summer season. As always, the Main Kit has so many amazing parts and pieces (see below), and is such a great value at only $34.99 (Regularly $76.00). Though I love the Main Kit, I always like to play with the Add-ons. These sweet sets are perfect all year round. The card featured below is part of the “S’mores Bonfire” collection and has the coordinating frame cuts to go with it. (See product information and ordering at the end of this post.) Isn’t it the cutest?
I decided to change up the corners of the card for variety so I used my corner rounder on both the card base and the mat. I love that this set can be created quickly just by stamping and coloring in with markers. However, I always like to try something different with my cards so that no two ever look quite the same. This time I used a gray marker and randomly drew a line around the card and then filled in with little “mark-makings” with a dark gray marker and black and white fine tip pens. Kinda different. Makes it look whimsical.
For the next set, I thought it would be cute to use a match box and put a treat inside. As many of you know, I LOVE anything party or “gifty”. I actually recycled a match box for this project but you can probably find a free pattern online.
Using a soft image behind words is a great way to fill in the background. Hero Hues Soft Granite ink was used for the fire and Intense Black Ink for the sentiment.
For the treats, I bought those small Hershey bars, miniature marshmallows and cut the small graham crackers down to fit into the clear wrapper that all fits neatly inside the match box. (Tip: Use a small spatula to cut graham crackers into smaller pieces. Mine cut perfectly with no breaking!) And of course, the toothpick is the skewer. Love miniatures.
