Super excited over here because I have officially become a StencilGirl® designer and today my Mushroom Stencil collection is making its debut! It is almost surreal considering that I only began delving into mixed media and abstract about 3 1/2 years ago, after being introduced to it by Seth Apter. This style is definitely different for me, a step outside of my comfort zone, and has involved some letting go, and trying new things, but I can’t imagine not doing it now. I love the challenge, the unique expression, the artistic language and of course, all the creative souls that I have met along the journey so far. Stencils are a pretty much a component in my abstract work, though some are more subtle than others. I have loved playing, and will continue to play with other designers stencils but felt that it was time to put my foot into the creative waters and see where they take me. And why mushrooms you ask? You will have to check it out on the StencilGirl® Talk blog where I have a video explaining the why. And now the reveal…
I have three sizes of stencils, two are large, “Tall, Skinny Mushrooms” (L749) and “ATC Mixup-Adams” (L748) while the smaller one is 6″ x6″ and is called “Fungi”(S736). Though all were designed to be used in any style of art, I especially wanted to include the ATC patterns for cardmakers. They lend themselves to all the key components of cardmaking and there aren’t just mushrooms. 🙂 If you are considering cardmaking or are looking for some new techniques to try, check out my “The Art of Cardmaking” online course by StencilGirl Studio. If you are interested in purchasing any of the stencils, they are all available on the StencilGirl® website.

I will be posting a variety of projects from time to time showcasing ways to use these new stencils so be sure to subscribe to receive notification from this blog and/or follow me on instagram. All the information is located on the sidebar here. Of course, check out StencilGirl® Talk regularly!
I cannot sign off without thanking artist extraordinaire, designer, teacher and owner Mary Beth Shaw of StencilGirl® for this opportunity. She extended me such a kindness (actually MANY) when she saw I was ready and I am so very grateful.
