Hi friends! I know we have been cooped up for sometime so today I thought I would show you a card that I made this week using my mushroom stencil by StencilGirl® that you can make too! What made this so fun is that you don’t have to be an artist to create it. There are so many amazing products out there to facilitate anything you might be interested in. For example, my mushroom card was made by simply tracing out the mushroom and leaves from my Mushroom and ATC Mixup stencils, available here, colored in with markers, cut out, distressed with Vintage Photo Ink and attached to a collage-layered card base.
I added a few more random tracings around the mushroom and leaves to make it look a bit more hand drawn.
The background was just bits and pieces of old receipts, part of a dictionary page, a ticket, and Rae Missigman’s Repetition stencil. It seemed like the perfect set up for the Mushroom.
It didn’t take long at all to create because I keep a stash of collaged paper in a little suitcase. I pulled out this sheet, cut it down to size and it was ready to go. I like to use foam dots to add dimension to my projects so the mushroom and leaves are popped up. String is found on almost everything I create as well. The sentiment is from the stencil, Alpha Jumble Small by Carolyn Dube and was sponged onto to black cardstock using Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink.
If you want to see the whole process quickly, check it out here…
Want to make more? I show how to create nearly 10 mixed media cards from one sheet of paper through StencilGirl® Studio‘s online/downloadable course. Check it out here.
Hoping that today is a nice distraction. I always like finding something new to do when I’m stuck at home…and not cleaning. LOL. How about you?
XO,
Debi
