June 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit Reveal, Blog Hop and Giveaway

8 Jun

Oh hey, happy Monday and welcome to the June 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit reveal by Hero Arts. As always we are having a blog hop and giveaway to celebrate! Make sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to find out how to enter as well as who is next on the hop. Well, what is new? Let’s start with the My Monthly Hero Main Kit. Wow, wow and wow! Lots of fun designs packed in here. And, this time the theme is all about the great outdoors.

This entire kit is valued at $74.00 but is available now for $34.99, while supplies last! Once it’s gone, it’s gone. If you want to make sure you get your kit every month, you might consider becoming a subscriber. Hero Arts has several options to choose from. If interested, check it out here.

Here’s what you will receive in the Main Kit for June:

4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set

6″ x 6″ Northern Lights Cling Stamp

3 Fancy Scene Dies

10 Coordinating Frame Cuts

2- 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Black Handmade Watercolor Paper

Glow in the Dark Lacquer Pen

Shiny Silver Stars

With great designs like these, creating unique cards is easy. This 3- D fold out card was made by adding a cardstock, box base that folds up for easy mailing. Love all the dimensionality this kit has to offer.

For the coloring on these cards, I used Blue Hawaii and Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks and Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. I also used Cocoa Brown and Forever Green Ink. The rest was colored in with various Copic markers. I added a tiny bit of vellum to the lighthouse to create a visual of a light being cast into the harbor. As mentioned many times, I am a big fan of foam dots so additional dimension was added through that adhesive product.

And love these Northern Lights… I have never seen the real ones myself but I can certainly imagine. All the details that are in this red rubber stamp are amazing! The tiny little silver stars were perfect for making this look magical and they come in the Main Kit.

And of course, I am all about the add-ons in this collection so I had to share a few. There are four sets tucked into this one card. There’s the Galaxy Peek A Boo Parts for the background, the Shine Bright and Shine Bright Frame Cuts, and the Music In the Night Window Die. The background was created with Pool Party and Blue Hawaii Reactive inks and then stamped with the Galaxy background stamp using Unicorn White Ink with the MISTI. I accentuated the silhouettes by die-cutting them not just in black but in white too and then placed the white cardstock behind the black. The sentiment was embossed in white on black cardstock.

And yes, it may be June gloom here in California but this card is definitely anything but that! Summer is about here so I brought out the sunshine by tucking some fun Hero Arts sequins inside a netted bag, added a mini-pennant with a sentiment, embellished it with some layered hearts and stamped up the dolphin with two shades of ink, Blue Hawaii and Green Apple Reactive Inks. . The word “June” was shaded with Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Pool Party and Green Apple inks. The sunshine will return, it always does, but until then, this card will have to do.

So there you have it. Just a few of the many projects that you can create using the June 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit and Add-ons. Do you have a favorite set? I’m sure it’s hard to choose. I definitely couldn’t! Certain that Ilina Crouse has been busy creating some fun projects for the hop too! Check out her blog here for her take on the new launch.

You are so very talented. The first card blew me away with all the different colours you used & the little piece of vellum for the beacon of light from the lighthouse was a brilliant idea.. I lived in Northern BC for 5 years & saw the Northern lights & they were breathtaking. I think your second card is a fine representation of them. I’d love, love, love to win this kit as it basically represents where I live & I’d use it over & over. We are living with June gloom also as we seem to have a lot of cloud & rain off the west coast of BC.
