Well friends, this month’s launch of July’s My Monthly Hero Kit was just so good that I needed to break it up and make an additional post! If you missed yesterday’s post, check it out here. (Make sure to join the blog hop and enter the giveaway!) Today I’m showcasing three more cards, all add-ons.
Ah, this submarine! Who doesn’t like a yellow submarine? This is an all frame-cut, no stamp image so all I did was color it in. I created the water from blue cardstock. The sea grass/coral and sea horse was stamped onto vellum using Intense Black ink and then die-cut. The coral went under a hand-cut piece of a stamped, sandy beach. Now, to create the idea that the submarine is underwater, I attached a piece of vellum to sit just below the water line. The clouds (Cloudy Sky Scenes die) and birds were cut and adhered to the upper portion of the card.
Card two I actually ended up making two of because I had left over pieces. Don’t you love it when you can get a two-fer? This Underwater Pattern is just gorgeous. Every detail, from the fish to the sea urchins, is just perfect. I lightly stamped the Bold Print using Soft Granite ink onto watercolor paper using the MISTI. I watercolored the whole scene. (Don’t worry about it going outside of the lines.) When I got it colored the way I liked it, I reinserted the pattern into the MISTI and stamped and embossed it with white embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped and tied onto the card.
Because the Bold Print was so large (6″ x 6″), I was able to slice off one side of it and use it for another card. I stamped and embossed in white, the pattern on the base card, and then attached the colored strip. The sentiment was die-cut twice, once using another strip of the bold print design and another from Dove White cardstock. The sentiment was then spliced to bring the opposite print to the other side.
And there you have three more ideas for this month’s add-on collection. Coming to Hero Arts blog tomorrow, I will have two more unique cards to showcase. Hope you will join me there. If you are interested in any of the products from this collection, you can find them at the end of this post.

Great cards, Deb! I like how you combined the white pattern with the colored side with the same image.
Wonderful color tones!

Very nice cards! I really like what you did with the Underwater Pattern cards! That stamp caught my eye and I really wanted to see someone use it.
