As many of you know, last weekend Tim Holtz launched his new Halloween idea-ology products for 2020 and many of us designed fall projects to showcase those items. It is always an honor and joy to work with Tim’s designs as I am able to meet new people who share the same interests and it forces me to stretch my bandwidth in both art and crafts. Today I am posting one of my four projects that were featured on Tim’s Facebook Live. Well actually, this one didn’t make it to the showroom floor. Story to follow shortly. This project has a variety of new, as well as older products in it. I will do my best to show this project up close and describe some of my favorite tips or products I love, although all of the products are fabulous. (Information for purchasing any of the items is located at the end of this post.)
My first project, well no, this one didn’t make it to Tim’s, unfortunately. Somewhere during transit, this vignette was shattered and though Tim and Mario tried to be the best surgeons, there was no resuscitating this one. (It was in “grave” condition. Ok, so you have to make the best out of it, right?) Thankfully I took pictures and I think I will try and remake this again.
An open book provided the backdrop for this spooky scene. The new Halloween Vignette papers covered two Vignette Boxes. They were then embellished with a variety of new Sticker Clippings, Halloween Tokens, Baseboards, Pumpkins, alcohol ink-dyed, Bouquet Flowers and Trim Tape. Under the Glass Dome was a grungy Wood Frame and the new Urn (Grave Relics) with a stack of Pumpkins. It was topped with a Skull. The Purple Chipboard curtains hung from the tiny Frame. Surprisingly, they all fit under the Dome. 🙂 Happy me!
Tiny lights wrapped around wired branches (outside source) encased the entire set.
Of course a few bones (Boneyard), Mummy Cloth, Halloween Trim Tape (Numbers) and Letterpress Numbers finished it off.
*Tip- I hate seeing the mechanics of structures and that includes shiny wires. I carefully painted the Tiny Lights wire with gray acrylic paint. It got lost in the gray, spanish moss which was exactly what I was going for. The Bats were die-cut from glittered cardstock using one of Tim’s Halloween Bat die thinlits.
And there you have it! Thankful I didn’t have to see the shattered remains but oh so grateful that I can make another. I will be sharing more projects shortly so I hope you will check back in often or subscribe to my blog.
Thank you. Glad you stopped by!
XO,
Debi
