The *NEW* Hero Arts 2020 Winter Catalog, Blog Hop and Giveaway

26 Aug

Today is one big happy day with the release of the NEW Hero Arts 2020 Winter Catalog, and ncludes a blog hop and giveaway! So many unique and creative designs that will make your head spin or start the creative juices flowing! Either way, I think you will love the new art. I’m showcasing a few ornaments/cards that I created specifically for the catalog. I can honestly say, I am thankful I got to play with them because I found them to be so versatile and used in a myriad of ways. Before I get started I wanted to let you know that this is a blog hop with a few giveaways so make sure to go to the end of this post to get more information as well as to learn more about the products featured in my post.

My first ornament actually involves a stamp set and the Wish Ornament Fancy die. I stamped the background using “Cozy Town” with Intense Black ink onto Dove White cardstock, colored them in with Copic Markers and die-cut the piece out using the Infinity Circle die that was closest to the size of the ornament. I then cut the Wish Ornament out from red glittered paper and adhered the two papers together. I cut another Ornament from white glittered cardstock and used the bottom portion only to create “snow” under the word “wish” and added the ornament hanger and bow.

Wanting to make it a card? Easy, peasy…Just add a fun background with patterned paper or hand-stamped paper onto a card base. This card is actually a pocket with a hole cut out of the center with a little ledge cut from foam felt underneath the inside circle. The ornament comes out of the top of the sleeve but rests on the little ledge while in transit. Thought it was a nice way to take something from a card to an ornament.

Next up is “Joy to the World”, well that’s what I had in mind anyway. I die-cut the World Window Fancy Die from watercolor paper and used another larger Circle Infinity die to remove it from the actual paper (it’s a negative image) and watercolored it with Daniel Smith Watercolor Dot Palette. Then I cut another, same-sized Circle from watercolor paper to fill in the background. I attached the two together using foam dots. The die-cut, gold poster board Joy Ornament Fancy Die was attached to the front of the World and it was done!

Last one up today is a shaker ornament. Gold poster board was die-cut into a circle for the background base that matched the size of the ornament. Several Love Ornament Fancy Dies were cut from Dove White cardstock and glued together to create a raised platform to hold the sequins, while allowing them to move freely about. A piece of circular acetate was adhered underneath the top Love Ornament and then attached to the top of the other layered sentiments. Lastly, the Ornament hanger was cut from gold poster board and attached to the top of the Ornament. This would make a great package topper too!

Well there are four ideas to get you started. Time is ticking and the holidays will be upon us far sooner than we expected, as always. Let’s get making things together, at least virtually, until we can sit together! Ya’ll doing Zoom? Great craft party time! I sent away all these projects so I will definitely be creating (re-creating) with you! Wanting to see the Winter 2020 Catalog? Check it out in the link below.

Really pretty. The ornaments are wonderful and I love how you showed how you could easily use them on a card. Plus I must say you did a great job photographing and showcasing your ornaments.

What a great idea in turning these circle sentiments into ornaments, mixing them up with cozy town or a glittery shaker. So clever and such beautiful art to give as gifts, use as tags, or hang on your own tree. Thanks so much!
