My Monthly Hero Blog Hop and Giveaway for December 2020

7 Dec

Welcome to a fabulous new My Monthly Hero Kit launch with add-ons, a Blog Hop and Giveaway for the month of DECEMBER! Wow, have we already arrived here? I know a lot of us were wishing this month had arrived sooner with all that has transpired this year. My perspective is to try and set a goal to find some hope right now where we are and move forward on into 2021! Who’s with me? I think Hero Arts is headed in the right direction with this brand new collection of stamps, dies and stencils with the theme, “Hope and New Beginnings”. Just take a look at what comes in the My Monthly Hero Kit:

All so fresh and inspiring, right?

Included in the kit are the following:

6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set, Hope Word Fancy Die, Cloud Fancy Die, Cloud Window Die, 4 Reactive Ink Cubes (Early Dawn, Morning Mist, Yellow Chartreuse, Thistle) and Yellow Prisma Embossing Powder (0.5oz.)

Now let’s see what the possibilities are with these products. Just a tip of the iceberg…

“Hope” was created by coloring in the outline (die-cut) image of the word with pastel colored Copic markers and then die-cutting the word Hope from Dove White Cardstock. I then layered them together. I die-cut the Cloud Window die from a Dove White Top Folded card and saved the cut out piece. I colored it in using Pool Party Reactive Ink and a blending tool and then adhered it into the image so that it actually sits on the inside of the card. I attached the die-cut Cloud Window and then the word “Hope” on just the edges of the Cloud Window. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment using Early Dawn and Thistle Reactive inks. Super quick card to make!

This colorful card involved layering the clouds and sun landscape stamps in Early Dawn, Thistle, Lemon Drop, and Creamsicle Reactive Inks onto a piece of 4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Dove White cardstock . For the top part of the card, I added a little bit of Navy Mid-tone ink to add some depth. I used embossing ink and the Yellow Prisma Embossing Powder and embossed the the sun rays. Normally I would have reworked the sun because I noticed I had some random scattered particles of the yellow powder, but honestly I ended up loving it. It gave it more of that sprinkled sunshine feel. I then worked on a second piece of 4″ X 3″ Dove White cardstock, applying removable tape to the middle section at an angle to form the glimmer of the sun, blending Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink and Navy Mid-tone Ink onto the outer area. I removed the tape, colored in the stripe with a yellow marker and then stamped and embossed the sun rays with the yellow embossing powder. I split that embellished piece and placed one at the bottom of the clouds and sun landscape piece and the other under the sun and cloud image. I added the stamped sentiment to a piece of 4″ x 2″ Dove White cardstock and attached it to the card. The completed cardstock was attached to a a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top folded card. A little bit more work but certainly full of color!

This last Kit card was really an experiment. I thought wouldn’t it be fun to create ice bergs from the clouds, as if we were in Alaska or something? So this is what I came up with. Not sure if I got it right or not but I sure had fun creating!

So I can never leave out add-ons because they are certainly as fun as the Main Kit. Here are a few I designed but my favorite ones are over at Hero Arts on Wednesday. 🙂

A quick and easy card to create. I used lots of colors of Reactive Inks and then die-cut the Geometric Sun Fancy Die out. I also did the flip side where I embellished the back layer of the card with Reactive inks and die-cut the Sun design from plain Dove White cardstock and layered it on top of the randomly inked card. (See card to the left).

And then there is this sweet “Good Vibes” and the Tree with Roots Fancy Die. How can you miss with this power of positivity? Ah, such goodness!

So, there you have my twist on December’s fabulous products! Lots more to see on this blog hop and giveaway. Next up is Emily Midgett. If you’ve missed anyone along the way, the list is below. And don’t forget to enter the giveaway.

We will give away one $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, December 13th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

Stunning as usual, Debi!! I especially love the pastel rainbow on your “It’s a new day” card and your stunning sunrise on your “Wishing you a better tomorrow” card. Wowza!! Though I know it wasn’t shown yet, I saw your firebird card on the HA website and am looking forward to creating something similar. Your firebird really pops!! Thank you for your continued inspiration!
