As we usher in the long awaited 2021 and welcome January, there is no better way to celebrate than with another fabulous My Monthly Hero Kit Countdown by Hero Arts. Today I am showcasing just a snippet of what’s to come on Monday, January 4th and can I just say, this is one of the cutest collections to play with? Think of happy, sunny, bees, flowers and encouraging sentiments! So let me stop gushing and just get to the projects! Oh wait, did I say projects, as in two? Yep, this time I couldn’t do just one. Too many ideas floating out there so I did two for the countdown.
Here’s my “traditional” card per se, all about the yellow and black. Makes me think of summer. And aren’t those bees just adorbs?
I die-cut the honeycomb from the white cardstock and stamped the sentiment in black ink. (I intentionally kept a few hexagons in.) I layered it on top of the yellow-glittered cardstock that comes in the kit 🙂 and put it all on top of a side-folding card.
The bees and flowers were stamped and die-cut then colored with Copic markers. I attached them with adhesive and foam dots. Lastly I die-cut the hearts from yellow cardstock using the Heart Infinity Dies and outlined them with a thin, permanent black pen. Just for the fun of it, I added sequins but honestly, this set is so cute without them! When I finished creating this card, I couldn’t help but think…
Right? Let’s take it right on into Valentine’s Day with just a few swaps of color, an embossed sentiment so it pops, and some red (or perhaps even pink?) glittered cardstock. Boom.
And there you go! So do you love this set as much as I do? As with all Hero Arts Countdowns, make sure to leave a comment on each designer’s Countdown to Creativity post for January so you can be entered to win a kit before anyone else! We will randomly select one winner on from all the comments left on the posts. Winner is announced on Monday, January 4th, before the kit even launches! Here’s your opportunity my friends!
Happy you stopped in!

Debbie, both cards are so beautiful and it makes you feel as summer time with the yellow one, the red one it makes you feel in love. It doesn’t have to be in love with your mate, love any one like a mama, sister, titi or frind among others. They match so beautiful. I like the outline and the glaze on the hearts, but the bees are the star of the show. Tfs
