Hey friends! Thought I would pop on right quick and share a fun little project I made using Tim Holtz’ new Lucky Love 3-D Impresslits before Valentine’s Day is gone! And it is getting here quick! In case ya’ll want to know what a quiver is, it is simply the holder for the arrows. I thought it would make a great party favor or goodie bag and so the creative adventure began!
So the actual quiver is just an empty, trimmed down, paper towel holder that was flattened at the bottom and adhered in place with hot glue. I added Tim’s thin velvet ribbon to the side so it could technically be carried.
The arrows were made from thin, dowel sticks and Tim’s Triangle dies. (I made a triangle for each side because I do not like to see any mechanics.) They were inserted into the quiver then I added tissue paper, fru-fru, balloons and treats.
I embellished the outside of the quiver with the heart from the Lucky Love Impresslit that was cut from Tim’s red metallic cardstock. (I have said this before, if you do not own one Impresslit, you are missing out. They are fab and a favorite of mine!) The embossed image was colored lightly with an 18 kt. gold leafing marker. (See the flowers in the image below). I cut another heart from red glittered cardstock and trimmed off the floral detail and adhered it to the center of the metallic heart.
This all got placed on top of the 3-D Winged Cut and Emboss. A few of Tim’s millinery white flowers (discontinued but still locatable) were tucked in below the heart. Because I wanted to extend the decor down the quiver more, I used the Bloom Colorize Thinlit leaves die-cut from gold metallic cardstock and gold glittered cardstock and tucked them underneath the heart. The cupid was a vintage piece I had on hand that seemed perfect to use here. A bow created from red seam binding and his stamped and embossed sentiment “i love you” finished off the favor.
So that was it. Pretty fun little goodie bag, perfect to give to a special someone that could use a little lift.
Hope you got a little inspiration today.
XO,
Debi
