Are you all ready for another fabulous My Monthly Hero Kit Launch by Hero Arts for February? Pretty sure this is one of the best sets yet. Lots of tropical designs, sentiments and creative artistry in general. Think we’re all ready for a vacay, especially one in paradise! Hoping that is a real possibility in the near future. But hey, while we are waiting, we can dream and play. And just look at all the creativity packed into this month’s kit! So many designs and sentiments to choose from. All of the collection is available at the end of the post as well as how to enter our fabulous $50.00 gift certificate giveaway!
So here’s a look at the kit…
It’s a $70.00 value but priced at a first come, first serve cost of $34.99.
Included in the kit is:
6″ x 8″ clear stamp set (LOTS of designs with this one)
21 Coordinating Frame Cuts
Tropical Washi Tape-(Like how cute is that?)
Sand Embossing Powder-(Of course. :))
6-5.5″ x 8.5″ pieces of cardstock, two pieces of each color
As always, these sets are available either through a subscription (guaranteed) OR first come, first serve only. That means when they are gone, they will not be reordered. Better grab it while you can.
So what can you make with this set? Don’t get me started! Truth is I had a really hard time stopping. Lots of ways to play. I’m afraid I may be in trouble with one of them…
First up is this fun hexagon card. Pretty easy to create. Lots of stamping, a little die-cutting and a bit of coloring and layering and, the card is done. Oh, I cut my sentiment stamp “Just a little note to say”, so that I could have two lines. It worked perfectly on this card. Love that clean, crisp font!
Ok, so here’s the one where I kinda went out of the box. I may be banished from the team. I couldn’t help myself. I got this in my head and there was no turning back! And, what’s not to love about polka dot mushrooms? They say variety is the spice of life, right? Yea. That.
But then again the set could be used like it was originally intended, where the mushroom is really an umbrella, as seen below. I die-cut part of a Circle Infinity die on the fold of brown cardstock to make this an actual card. The white cardstock is part of a die-cut circle. I think this card would make a great invitation too!
My next card was from the the new Lifestyle Luau Accessories add-on set and the new Hibiscus Bold Print stamp. I stamped the Bold Print in Key Lime Fizz Reactive Ink. I created an ombre look for the background by blending Pool Party, Green Apple and Key Lime Fizz Reactive Inks onto the Dove White Top Folded Card. Notice that the stamped images picked up the shades of the colors that I blended for the background even though they were stamped in Key Lime Fizz. Pretty cool. The rest of the designs were die-cut and colored with Copic Markers. I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white onto Pitch Black cardstock. All were placed on different sizes of embellished Nesting Circle Infinity dies. Oh, ha! The “seaweed” was actually the hula skirt turned upside down and trimmed. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right?
And here’s a few more of the add-ons. Love that volcano heroscape and coordinating die cuts. I added the Hibiscus die-cuts to give it that island feel. The “plumerias” were simply the centers from the hibiscus.
Well, there you go. All five of them. Super fun. Sure hope they bring some sunshine to your day and week. Looking for more inspiration? Make sure to hop on over to Emily Midgett’s blog. She is crazy talented!
