Well hi all and welcome back to another fabulous My Monthly Hero Kit launch by Hero Arts with a blog hop and giveaway! For the month of August, we are bringing you the theme, “Color Your World in Friendship”, but it truly resonates all year round! Anytime is a great time to support, encourage, tell someone you care and/or build a new friendship! This new collection is all about that and, with a little bit of creativity, can be even more! Lots of diverse products in this kit. All the items shown here are linked at the bottom of my post, as well as how to enter the giveaway and get caught up on the blog hop so make sure to scroll to the bottom!
This month kit features:
• 4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set
• Coordinating Fancy Dies
• 5.4″ Square Cling Stamp
• 5.25″ x 6.5″ Stencil
• 3 Liquid Watercolors (Pink, Indigo, Dandelion)
• 6 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets Watercolor Paper
Here’s what the kit looks like…
It’s a great set with lots of unique images! I love that there is a combination of stamps, die cuts, watercolors and a stencil, making it fantastic for all kinds of artists. The collection retails for $70.00 but is available now for $34.99. When the set sells out it is gone and will not be restocked. If you’re interested, please scroll to the bottom of my post where there are links on how to purchase it along with the Monthly add-ons. You can also found out how to be a kit subscriber and never miss out on any kit! Check it out here.
So what did I create with this set? Ah, I had so much fun. Always do!
Super easy to create this card! I die-cut the hands from the paper in the kit and used markers for the nail polish and creases at the wrist. The word LOVE was die-cut from the watercolor paper using the liquid watercolors from the kit. I did mix and blend to get the various shades and colors. Really fun to play with them! A few marks with a fine tip black pen around the letters gave them a little more definition. I die-cut a large heart from the Nesting Heart Infinity Dies and three small circles from the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies, all using the watercolor paper. They were embellished with the watercolors. Once dry, I stamped the “you color my WORLD” sentiment using Intense Black Ink onto the big Heart. The background was created by flicking white acrylic paint onto Pitch Black cardstock and adding few hand-drawn stars with a Uni-ball white pen. TIP: Once everything was colored and assembled, I did something a little different than what the hands were originally intended. Instead of the fingers forming a heart shape, I placed the large heart in the hand. It seemed to work perfectly that way too! So there you have it!
Of course I always showcase a few of my favorite add-ons, so here you go.
First one up involves the NEW Rays of Color Stencil, Paper Hug Stamp & Cut, and the current Nesting Cloud Infinity Dies.
This is another quick card. I adhered the Rays of Color Stencil down to a piece of Dove White cardstock using Pixie Spray and simply blended several Hero Arts Reactive Inks to form a rainbow. “Big Hugs” was die-cut from Dove White cardstock and gold poster board and attached to base. Clouds and Hearts were also cut from white cardstock, with one cloud being cut from gold poster board. The white hearts were colored with Taffy Reactive Ink and the Clouds with a little Pool Party. All were attached to the card base with adhesive and foam dots. The tiny hearts were paper punched.
My final card for today, but certainly not the end to the add-ons is this mini wall-hanging. Can I say this was soooo much fun to make!
I cut a piece of Antique Ivory Cardstock to approximately 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, more or less. I rolled down the top far enough to accommodate a small dowel stick or skewer and stitched it place. If you don’t sew, you can simply adhere in place. I cut several shades of complimentary cardstock to form a rainbow from the NEW Rainbow Infinity Dies and attached them below the stitch line and stamped the sentiment in Intense Black ink directly below the rainbow. Check to make sure that the fringe will be inside your card base line. Trim if necessary. Small punched holes at the bottom of the ivory cardstock made a place for me to form tiny tassels. The dowel stick or skewer was entered into the top part, string tied to the stick and all adhered to the card front (your choice of color) using adhesive or foam dots. A little more work in this card but what a modern, trendy style!
Well that’s it for me today. Sure hope you’ve gotten some fresh ideas for working with this new launch. If not, be sure to check out Emily Midgett’s post today. Certain she will have a different spin on them!
