Hey all! Welcome back to another FABULOUS My Monthly Hero Kit Countdown for November 2021. Can I tell you that you are going to LOVE this one and the kids are going to LOVE it too! I see an opportunity for a gift wrap party. Well ya’ll know me by now, I love a party and decorating and this had me written all over it! I actually had a wrapping party several years back with my daughter’s friends and their mommas. Christmas music playing, everyone brought gifts to wrap, and we all shared a bit of nostalgia now that everyone was grown and living elsewhere. Nothing like it. So this month’s kit well, there are lots of fun tags for the holidays, some stamps and sentiments and with a bit of imagination, I’m sure they can be worked into cards and gift boxes. If you check out Hero Arts blog today, you will see a sampling of the Creative Team’s twist on four holiday/seasonal characters. Of course, I chose this super cute snowman to showcase.
I decided to go in a slightly different direction and make him as a topper instead of a tag to compliment the hot cocoa and marshmallow gift bag.
He’s so easy to make. For the bag/box, I used a top-folded 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Dove White card base with the top, folded edge, as the bottom. I scored 1/2″ on either side of the fold line so that it formed a gusset. I cut a circle from the center and embellished it with Pool Party Reactive Ink, inserted a baggy of marshmallows into the inside of the circle area of the card and stapled the hot cocoa to the back. All that was left was the snowman himself!
I die cut the snowman from various colors of cardstock, embellished the scarf with the uber cute polka dot stamp set from the kit, colored the rest with Copic, splattered acrylic white paint for snow and dots of a white uni-ball pen for added detail.
The sentiment from the kit was stamped onto a die-cut Heart Infinity Die using Intense Black ink and attached to the bag/box using a foam dot. I added little strips of cardstock to form his stick arms and attached the peppermint twine from the kit. Looks like things are really heating up for Frosty. š
Well that’s my story today and I’m stickin’ to it because the kit is real and it’s good! Hope you take a minute to check out our other Creative Team members designs. What a super talented group of people. Honored to play alongside them. Oh and hey, as always we have a giveaway! Leave a comment here and on the other team members’ posts to be entered to win the November 2021 kit before anyone else gets one! Winner announced on Monday on the Hero Arts blog.
Thanks for joining me today! Pop back in on Monday where the complete kit will be revealed plus I’ll share a few of the add-ons I created!
