It’s finally HERE! The NEW My Monthly Hero Kit for January 2022 has arrived and it’s unique, creative and packed with so many possibilities! It was inspired by the locks of love on the chain link fences in Paris. Included in the kit are stamps and dies for creating a beautiful scene with tree branches and a swing. A large keyhole cover plate design completes the scene. Here’s a look at the complete kit. (Information on purchasing anything featured here today is located at the end of this post, along with the blog hop list.)

In addition to stamps and die cuts, this kit comes with four cubed inks and red jewels. It’s an $80.00 value but is available for $34.99. As always, there are limited quantities. Once it’s sold out, the kit will not be replenished.
Ah, so let’s move onto inspiration. If you missed my first card on Saturday’s Countdown sneak peek, you can go here.
So here is another vision for this set. I used the Cover Plate for the background, which was cut from Dove White cardstock and embellished with Taffy Reactive Ink. I covered the Keyhole with a piece of Dove White cardstock, and added the die-cut keys cut from cardstock (embellished with ink) and gold poster board. The small gold hearts were from the center of the key. The sentiment was stamped and embossed in gold. I think it makes for a great Valentine card.

My next card features several of the January add-ons. I LOVE those locks btw as I’m a big fan of die-cuts and how great are the chain links?

And here’s an entirely different way to use the Chain Linked die cut. I used it as a lattice-type background for these beautiful Peonies. I lightly embellished the background with Green Apple Reactive ink first and attached the die-cut Chained Linked piece. The Peonies were created using the peony, multiple design stencils then stamped and embossed them with white embossing powder. The coordinating die-cut made it easy to layer onto the card base. An embossed sentiment finished the card.

And hey, let’s look a little bit closer at that Peony stencil without the stamps and die-cuts! It’s a completely different look but it still works! Love how easy it is to layer and add dimension through ink colors.

Well that’s my take on this month’s NEW collections. Hope you found something that inspired you to create. Next up on the hop is Emily Midgett. She’s bringing some fresh new artwork to the work/play table so be sure to check out her post!
XO,
