Well hello friends! Happy Friday and happy October 1st! We have arrived and with it I’m bringing a sneak peek of the NEW My Monthly Hero Kit for October by Hero Arts. Don’t you just love getting a surprise even when it’s not your birthday or a holiday? Me too! So here’s just a taste of what’s unfolding on Monday, release day. I’m afraid I’m not sharing much here today in terms of designs so make sure to check on the Hero Arts blog to see the other designer’s amazing creative cards! I have made many cards with this set but I thought I would do something different for today’s post.
I might be suggesting there’s a hint of Victorian involved with this upcoming collection. Just check out this darling rocking horse!
I’m quite the rebel and made a small treat box from an empty toilet roll holder instead of a card. I covered it with paper from the NEW kit and added a gold doily around the center. If you can’t find a gold doily, a white one would do too!
I inserted some treats into a strip of rolled gold crepe paper (tissue paper would work as well) and placed it inside the decorated roll. I tied it off with red ribbons. This would make for a great table decor piece on a festive Christmas plate or as a money holder.
The stamped and die-cut rocking horse was embellished with Copic Markers and a little bit of a white Uni-ball pen to give it that “dappled” look. He was placed on top of a Hero Art’s Tag Frame Infinity Die, cut from an additional piece of cardstock found in the kit. Such a quick gift wrapping idea, especially if all the designs in the set are stamped, cut and colored ahead of time and they make great gift tags! Did you notice the subtle hint there? Lots of other design choices. 😉
So that’s it from me! Such a sweet collection and so many ways to create different styles and looks with just a few changes. I hope you will pop back in on Monday where I will have a lot of new projects to showcase both from the Kit and the new add-ons. Also, we’re having a giveaway here. Just leave a note on each one of the Hero Arts blogger’s posts to be entered to win October’s My Monthly Hero Kit (2021) before anyone else. Winner will be announced on Hero Arts.
Thanks so much for checking in. Always love the company.

Debby, you really did think out of the box on this one, it’s really pretty and a great idea for those that like to open a gift every other day before Christmas. I have a bunch of gold doilies and yesterday while searching for embellishments for my cards, I saw them and I was going to get rid of them,. Lucky I didn’t because this is a great idea. You are always an inspiration, tfs.
