It’s that time again for another fabulous My Monthly Hero Kit release by Hero Arts and I am happy to say there’s nothing “fishy” about this collection. For the month of June, you might even say it’s “oceans” of fun with lots of under the sea images. A variety of inks and pearls coordinate with the designs that are great for creating lots of unique cards. Today I am showcasing a few projects I made from the kit and also some of the new June add-ons. All the products featured here today are located at the end of my post. A blog hop and giveaway is always a part of these wonderful launches so make sure to scroll to the bottom to get all the details.
Now, let’s get to the kit. Oh the possibilities! Isn’t it beautiful?
While supplies last, you can get this kit valued at $72.00 for only $34.99, which is almost half price! Such a deal. Monthly kits often sell out and are not replenished. If you love this set, now is the time to grab yours. Here’s what you will find in this collection:
• 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set
• 8 Coordinating Frame Cuts
• Mermaid Reactive Palette Ink Pad
• Self-adhesive Pearl Gems
• Water Flow Brush
And here’s a little bit of inspiration using this set…
For the Mermaid, I stamped, die-cut and colored her using the Water Flow Brush and the inks from the set as well as some Copic Markers. Although hard to see in this photo, the background was stamped using the coral image with Soft Granite ink onto Dove White cardstock. I mounted the die-cut Mermaid on her own silhouette outline that was die-cut from Dove White Cardstock and embellished with Blue Raspberry, Splash, Key Lime and Lemon Drop Reactive inks. It made a perfect pool of water! Seashells, sea grass, coral and seashells added to the overall look.
And my next idea is this super simple friendship card.
It was made from die-cut Circles, embellished with the Reactive Inks in the set plus Key Lime Reactive Ink. The images were stamped in Intense Black Ink and die-cut. They were colored with more of the Reactive Inks and Water Flow Brush and set on top of the card. The stamped and embossed sentiment was last.
And here’s just a few of the many add-ons…
This “Jawsome” card actually features three different sets that happen to work well together! There is the Jawsome Sharks stamp set, the Jawsome Sharks Frame Cuts and lastly, the Looking Glass Pearl Set, which is usually layered altogether but I had to break the rules a little bit. :). (There’s alway one person, lol.). Again I colored everything in with Reactive inks and Copic Markers. I have to say, I love those sharks. Hard to believe they could ever hurt anyone with their sweet faces.
Here is another card with several combined sets. I thought this was one of the cutest sets this month. Love the mermaid! I used the Mermaid Wishes, Mermaid Cove, and Mermaid Wishes Frame cuts to create this scene. If you look closely, you can see a school of fish in the background. I stamped most of the images using Intense Black Ink and colored them with markers.
And my last card for today is one of the easiest cards to make simply because the frame cut has done all the work! I cut two of the Lighthouse and Sailboat Cover Plates from White Cardstock. I laid one on top of a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Dove White Cardstock and carefully filled in the background with different colors of Reactive Inks then I removed it and replaced it with the second cut Lighthouse image so that the die-cut details were white. I added the sentiment to the top of the card and then the Wood Frame Infinity Dies image to the outside edge of the card. The Frame was embellished with Copic Markers. Super summery, right? Ah, take me to the beach!
Well this is just a small showing of the June 2022 release. As mentioned before, this is a blog hop too so you will definitely want to see what the other designers have created using this month’s offerings. Next up is Emily Midgett where she has been busy making some incredible cards. Hoping you show her some love. Continue scrolling to catch up with the others on the hop. Beautiful cards! I have been feeling uncomfortable about the mermaid not having a top for some cards and have been thinking about how I could make a top that would fit. I like the way you extended the tail color to cover her abdomen! Thanks for all the inspiration!
