CHAW 2012

2 Feb
Well we just finished CHAW  (Craft and Hobby Association Show) 2012 held in Anaheim, Ca.  As many of you know, I work for Sizzix so I thought I would take a few minutes to post some pictures of my artwork as well as those of other creative artists!
These first few pics are of my line Vintage Cardmaking.

The impressive and super talented Tim Holtz created this mannequin for the Designers Showcase in the Ranger Booth.  If I could only tap into a little of his “out-of-the-box” mentality, it would be sooo good :)!

Both of the above scrapbook pages feature our new Pro dies.  Hey Kelsey, recognize the little girl?  Love it.

One of the perks of my job is working with great people…and this one is my friend too.  Beth Reames keeps me moving forward with her creative and elegant style.  Simply beautiful!

And this, this is my daughter clowning around like the scrapbook page behind her, which ironically, is her!  She is posing in front of the Tim Holtz Stamp 2 Cut display.  I had a blast creating  projects using this method on Sizzix’s eclips machine, an electronic cutter.  You must try out this machine.  So incredible.  You can see the close up below.  The premise of this method is that you stamp an image onto cardstock and the machine is able to cut out that image.  It is VERY easy to use.  Way simpler than trying to cut out the art with a pair of scissors.

Ah, and this is my interpetation of the alteration of a dress form for the Designers Showcase.  I was so honored to be asked by Tim to produce my style for this.  Scary, but waaay fun.  I cut off the bottom of the dress form and adhered it to a candle stick base then added a miniature glass knob to the top.  Look at those wings!!!  Impressive because all that detail was cut out by the eclips machine.  No work on my part. (Well, not much!) The skirt was some vintage gauze and the top, some vintage lace, both  picked up at a garage sale.  Overall touches of silver Sticles and Liquid Pearls finished the look.
