I Scream for….

25 Apr

Oh hey! I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Where did that weekend go, right?
Well I can say, I was busy creating again for today’s post. I had such a fun time playing around with my Pocketful of Posies die. It is one of my “go-to-dies” simply because of the variety and versatility it offers.  So here is what I created today…an ice cream banner. (Please pardon the pics.  Needing a good camera.)

Making this is so very easy.  If you are new to making, you can learn  how to make one of these flowers by going here .  Leave the stem on the flower but cut it short enough to hit the bottom of either a real sugar cone or the die featured below.  You will want to hot glue the wire to the inside bottom of the cone.
Adding some colorful straws make these look like sundaes.  I collect straws so it was super easy to put these in.  (I know! One more thing I collect.  My bad…lol!)

Not to reveal any more of my quirkiness, but I seem to have a “like” for unique tissue paper.  I found patterned tissue paper at TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Paper Source, Wal-Mart and The Container Store.

If you buy sugar cones at the store you will not have to make the cones shown here and your time for creating will be shorter.  On the other hand, if you are like me and like “doing”,  you can make these cones out of paper using my Tussy-Mussy die.  Try using patterned paper too!  For a different idea,  make a party favor from these and tuck a few little goodies inside the cone.
To string the cones together, I hot glued a white-covered wire into the center of the ice cream then shaped the wire like a Christmas ornament hanger.  This all gets hung on a piece of twine.   When  the ice cream cones are arranged where you want them,  adhere in place.
And that’s a wrap.  Simple, easy and colorful.  Let me know what you think.
XO,
Debi
