How Do You Say the Fifth of May?

5 May

Many of you know how much I love a party, well, let me restate that.  I love to decorate for a party and weddings and celebrations, and the list goes on.  It really makes me happy.  I had no plans to do anything for Cinco de Mayo until, uh, last night!  Work had already planned a party but with all that has been on my plate (no pun intended, oh yes :)), I thought I would just let this one go by.  I couldn’t.  Not in my nature I suppose.  So here are pictures from our party today.

I got the tablecloth (brand new bolt) and the hat from, drumroll please…Goodwill of course!  The festive fans came from a garage sale.  (You know how I love a good yard sale!)  I repurposed the sign to read Happy Cinco de Mayo. Would you call that paint-n-go?  The cactus is fake and fantastic and from Goodwill too.  So after writing all this I realized, I got all of this stuff out of my….closet!!! EEEEk!  I didn’t buy one thing except the mix for the cupcakes and the tissue paper for the flowers. The flowers were created using my Pocketful of Posies die by Spellbinders.  And, if you look closely, I made tiny little mexican flowers from my Hydrangea Floret die for the cupcakes.  Lots of layers of tissue paper flowers were layered onto toothpicks. They went super quick and were very, very easy!

So, tell me, what are you doing to celebrate May 5th, Cinco de Mayo or whatever you want to call it so that you can have a party?  Hope it’s good one!

XO,

Debi

It is full of fun and festivity. Loved these decoration ideas. These colorful cupcakes look simply fabulous. My sister got married last month at one of popular indoor wedding venues Los Angeles and had a colorful theme for decorations. Was looking gorgeous.
