Greetings from the UK!

20 Apr

I still cannot believe I am here! This last week has been a complete whirlwind. I went to Michigan to see my daughter and son-in-law for a few days (more announcements later on that :)) and then was flown to the UK to do 3, live, Create and Craft tv segments for my Market Fresh line from Spellbinders, and 2 more segments representing Stacey Caron’s line, Rebel Rose, coming on Monday. You can view my previously-aired segments here.  Grace card needed as these were my first real tv performances. Definitely a learning curve.  Anyway, I hung around Peterborough today because the train (station) I needed to take to London was closed. Tomorrow I will be attempting London by train and by tube!  My words this year have been brave, fearless and relentless.  Tackling that!  In the meantime, I enjoyed seeing this small town and the beautiful Peterborough Cathedral.  I rounded out my trip with tea and scones.  Just a few pics of my adventure. Of course, Starbucks are everywhere and so my day began accordingly…

I always enjoy a farmer’s market when flowers are involved…

One of the side entrances to the cathedral.

And of course, the view of the cathedral. It was beautiful and had so much history!

And the lighting here, just stunning.

The detailed artistry is always breathtaking.

Ended my excursion with this…in remembrance of my mother-in-law, June, who adored England, tea and scones.

More soon coming from LONDON! I cannot wait. Did I mention I was going to Cath Kidston because it certainly is on my agenda? And then there’s Cloth House for beautiful fabrics and the Wolff Gallery to see the works of Russell West.

XO,

Debi

Although many visitors to Great Britain find themselves landing in London, there’s plenty more to explore beyond the big city. I love the life in some of the most charming villages in the UK, from Port Isaac to Plockton.
