Hey ya’ll. The last few weekends have been filled with weddings and that meant lots of flower arranging. The latest venue was in Temecula, California and was absolutely gorgeous. This time instead of being a florist and a wedding coordinator, I just got to do the flowers and I was in my happy place. There was so much variety to this wedding. I created two signs, one for the wedding itself and the other for the reception. And then of course, there was all those flowers! Honestly, I seem to loose track of time and space when I’m “talking” with those botanical beauties. I went to the flower mart in L.A. at 5 a.m. Thursday morning to pick up my order and do a little “handpicking” of other flowers. Anyway, enough of the story. Here’s a few, ok, a lot of the things I got to do. I was beat by the end and, my hands ached but I can’t imagine doing anything else, unless of course, it’s art.

I made the bride’s bouquet using all her wedding colors.

We decided to do the bridesmaids’ bouquets all in white for a change! The exception was the maid of honor. She had just a few touches of wine (the color, not the drink…lol) in her bouquet.
I made all the wristlets using snap bracelets! One size fits all. It was perfect and so easy to create. You can spray them or paint them to match the color theme. Well “snap”!
The boutineeres were made from spray roses, wax flowers, seeded eucalyptus and blue thistle.
Two flower girls wore hair wreaths. These were simple but perfect for the girls.
The wreaths were made from wax flowers and a small, pink-ish flower from Australia that I loved. I wish I had gotten the name. Just ordered this book and it should be here this week. It should tell me the name :).

Not to be forgotten are a few pics from the reception. I had never free-handed, modern lettering to a sign as large as this one. It ended up not being quite as scary as I thought. Nice that the chalkboard marker was erasable. :).

The bride requested simple table arrangements. What I loved that she did was buy vintage mismatched dinner and salad plates for the place settings. It look beautiful!
Loved the signage on the back of the chairs, though truth be told, no one ever sees them but the couple and the photographer.
And the sweetheart table held the bride’s toss bouquet.
The circle wreath from the wedding venue was brought over to the reception. The cross was replaced with the sentiment, “Happily Ever After”.
And that was it. Things went really smoothly for this wedding. It’s always good to driveway with that feeling you accomplished what the bride wanted without any drama and no fiascos. Years ago, I helped a friend with a 90th birthday party for her husband. I did the invitations, table decor and a scrapbook of the event from pages which also served as the guestbook. It was so honoring & gratifying!
