My Monthly Hero Kit for January 2019-Blog Hop and Giveaway

7 Jan

Hello friends!  Happy Monday.  Today is the reveal day for My Monthly Hero Kit by Hero Arts for January 2019, and it’s a Blog Hop AND a GIVEAWAY. You will want to check it all out at the end of my post. (And, wow, has a month gone by already?) Lots of fun stamps and dies to create for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion. As always, the kit is limited to supplies on hand so now is the time! There are so many ideas that would work with this set but I decided to make a 3-D fold out card that is easy to cut and assemble and works perfectly with this fabulous collection.

So what comes in the kit? Take a peek…

It’s a $79.00 value but is selling for $34.99. What a deal! And you can make this card with just that stamp and die set and a few supplies listed below.

The dimensional card folds down to the left or the right for easy mailing.

To make this card, I stamped, cut, and colored all the pieces before I  started assembling.  Make sure to stamp and cut two “store fronts” from Snow Layering cardstock. It’s nice how all the stamps have coordinating dies. It saves on trying to fussy-cut the little tiny pieces. I used my Copic markers and some Prismacolored pencils to embellish the designs.

Die-cut one store front (not stamped) from black cardstock too to create the chalkboard for the back of the store. Ink, stamp and emboss the sentiment image onto the black cardstock, making sure it is seen through the window.

Now it’s time for creating the base and assembly.  The pattern for the folded card is shown below. The height of the strip is 1 1/2″.

Adhere the small tab from the longest strip to the inside so it forms a rectangle. The tabs from the small strips are folded in and attached to the 1 1/2″ sides on the inside of the rectangle, with tabs going in same direction.

Now it’s time to add all the pieces using adhesive and foam dots! Add the front and back store front windows to the card. Adhere the flowers and plants. I embellished and added a small strip of green cardstock to the bottom of the store front as grass, then added the bicycle & balloons.  And that’s it!  Can’t wait to give mine away! Are you making any Valentine’s? What is your favorite time of the year to give cards? Would love to see your creations.

XO,

Debi

Hi Debi – I am totally in love with your cards – the pop-up box card is genius and I love the colors in you used on your Mimosa card and how you made a bunch of bubbles as the background. Love this kit!

Debi, your first card is a show-stealer all on its own and then you went and did some more fantastic cards as well! So impressive and these examples are unique! I love that you made the first card a three dimensional one that folds easily into a envelope! Plus it is colored so beautifully. Do you have a video on how you did this? I would love to subscribe to your channel/blog!
I am also so lovin’ the mimosa card! Your colors for that card are spot on, and the multi layers really bring out the best in this card.
Again your third card is spectacular with that multi-heart background and I love the red and white combo; but I really did the teal & red combo you have on your last card! They are all really top-notch! Excellent job and you have a new fan!!!

My daughter went to Europe about 18months ago and I’m still yet to scrap an album for her. This kit would be absolutely perfect to do this. This kit would do justice to all of the amazing scenery of the wonderful countries that she was lucky enough to visit. Thank you for the opportunity.
