My Monthly Hero Kit for March 2019, A Blog Hop and Giveaway

4 Mar

Well March has rolled in and it’s time to share the new My Monthly Hero Kit by Hero Arts. I love that this launch always comes with a Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!   This month is no different from the others as there are lots of fabulous products with new ways to use stamps and die cuts and be inspired by some fabulous designers. You will want to see what the other artists have created as well as how to enter the contest and giveaway that’s located at the bottom of this post!  Here are a few of my favorites from this collection.

This set is from the Main kit plus the Pet Goldfish and Pet Goldfish Frame Cuts add-ons. The Main kit is an incredible deal with a value of $75.99 but retailing at only $34.99.  There are only a limited quantity of the Main Kits and once they are sold they are gone.

Some fun layering using foam dots and glittered fun foam. Aren’t the faces on those fish adorbs?

It’s in the details…

I love coloring with Copic markers.

Probably one of my favorite techniques to use is watercolor. I could do it for hours. Here I used the Daniel Smith Watercolor Sampler by Hero Arts and watercolor paper. Have you tried that sampler yet? It’s the best!  I misted the paper first then dabbed variations of blue and green paint using a watercolor brush and let the magic happen.  When dry, I stamped and embossed the Jellyfish Party Bold Prints onto the card base using white embossing powder, Versamark and an embossing heat gun.  Such a simple card to create but big on impact.

Jellyfish Bold Prints

There is something magical about this Paper Layering Seahorse set. There are only two guys to this set but endless possibilities.  I die-cut them and shaded with various colors of Hero Arts inks using a sponge dauber.  I hand-cut the silhouette of the big guy and adhered it to the backside of the seahorse so that the background wouldn’t come through the body.

The background was created with Yupo paper and alcohol inks in purple and blue. I stamped the Jellyfish Bold Prints  on the top using acrylic paints.  (Make sure to rinse your stamp off right away.) I cut out and adhered the frame using the Nesting Rectangles Infinity Dies and foam dots. The Color Layering Betta Fish sentiment finished the card.

Well that rounds out just a few from this “under the sea” collection.  Would love for you to check out Amy Kolling‘s blog.  She’s next on the hop but if you missed anyone, you can catch up by just a click on their link.

XO,

Debi Adams

I love the way you use the sting rays. And, the depth you achieve by layering identical die cuts that have been treated differently in terms of their finishes really makes it look like “underwater” art!

Not to mention the wonderful add-ons they’ve come up with. I love the different colours you used in the backgrounds of your cards & the way you added the string around the tail of the one fish is just perfect for the sentiment. Great thinking!
Then there is the jellyfish background stamp that you heat embossed – it’s wonderful. I’ve spent a lot of time delighting in whatching jellyfish in the water. The colours & movement of them fascinate me. Thanks for sharing your creations & for the inspiring ideas you give.
