April 2019 My Monthly Hero Card Kit, Blog Hop and Giveaway

1 Apr

Well hello my friends! It’s that time again. Today is the My Monthly Hero Kit for April by Hero Arts and there’s lots of unique stamps, dies and IDEAS for you to see. As always, this is a Blog Hop and Giveaway so be sure to scroll to the bottom to get more information and take a peek at the other designers blogs. If this is the first time you are joining me here, I’m so thankful that you stopped by. I love all kinds of creating so I hope you will check out some of my other posts as well.

I thought I would first show you what is in the Main kit (looks like a little bit of Italy!) for April. I know most of the other designers have showcased the Main kit (and so beautifully) so all my projects are featuring the add-ons. I’m kind of all about the little guy, I suppose. 😉

You get all the following products:

4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set

7 Scenery Fancy Dies

14 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Hero Hues Premium Cardstock (Sand, Mustard, Pumpkin, Cherry, Plum, Adriatic, Arctic)

2 5.5″ x 8.5″ Sheets of Vellum Paper

2 Rolls of 1/2″ Foam Tape, 2.2 yd. each, in 2 thicknesses

Tombow Mono Drawing Pen (Black)

The cost of this kit is $34.99, a huge difference from the $93.50 retail cost. Interested in joining the Kit of the Month Club and never miss a kit?  Check it out here.

As many of you know, I love dimensionality so naturally, I had to find a way to incorporate this into a card. This Get Well card features the new European Plaza Fancy Cuts and Tree Arch Fancy and they worked perfectly into a tri-fold card. All the instructions will be on the Hero Arts site but they are also located at the very bottom of this post.

I added a few lacquer dots to the fountain to make it look like water. The little details can make a difference.

This next card happens to feature one of my favorite sets in the April collection. This is the “Italian Table” add-on. And those silverware, need I say more? 🙂

And then there is this fun set, the Venetian Neighborhood Cling. Such a happy way to make someone’s day. I embossed the image in white on black cardstock then stamped the same image in black on white cardstock and cut a circle from a portion of it and colored it in.  Quick and easy!

Three different cards, three different add-ons and no two look the same. What’s your favorite? To see all the add-on offerings, scroll to the bottom of this page. So much variety, there is something for everyone! Next on the hop is Lydia Fielder.

XO,

Debi Adams

Here’s the entire hop so if you missed one, it’s never too late!

Instructions for Tri-fold card…

  1. Use a 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” card base, side folding card in white cardstock.
  2. Die-cut two sets of Tree Arches from Dove White cardstock.
  3. Embellish Trees using Fresh Lawn and Lime Tree ink with a sponge dauber.
  4. Color in Tree trunks using brown markers.
  5. With fold side to the right of the card instead of the left, trim card front off, leaving about 1/4” edge.  Attach tree to the edge of that tab using Precision Glue.
  6. Attach the other tree to a strip of cardstock, measuring 1 1/4” x 5 1/2” overlaying approximately 1/8”.  Score on that line Then score  again 1/8” vertically from the edge of the adhered tree. (This will allow the first set of trees to rest on top of the second set of trees.)  You will have two vertical score lines.
  7. Embellish Trees same as #3 and #4 above.
  8. Attach 1” tab section to back side of card. This should leave a fold over of 1/8”.  Trees should line up.
  9. Cut a piece  scant 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”white cardstock and embellish using sponge daubers and Bubble Gum, Lime Green, Tide Pool and Cornflower Blue inks.
  10. Adhere sponged piece to inside area, behind Trees.
  11. Die-cut Dove White cardstock using European Plaza Fancy dies. (Cut two fences).
  12. Embellish Plaza pieces using markers.
  13. Attach fountain to back card base.
  14. Attach two fences and lamp pole onto two front trees.
  15. Stamp and emboss sentiment onto Pitch Black cardstock using VersaMark and gold embossing powder.
  16. Adhere sentiment to trees using foam dots.
  17. Embellish with fountain using clear Nuvo Drops.
  18.  Add stars in sky using fine white tip pen. (Unibal)

Deby, I’m really liking every one of your cards! The last one struck a chord with me though. First it shows how much thought you must have put into designing it. Second, I love the clothes habging on the line. I get such joy hanging my laundry on the clothesline. As soon as the weather starts showing the promise of spring, I’m out there. I want this kit SO MUCH!
