Valentine’s Day Card is “Pure Magic”

9 Jan

Oh hey friends, I just couldn’t resist creating another Valentine’s Day card but this time I used Hero Arts “Pure Magic” stamp set. I love taking something that was created for something else and repurposing it. For example, this Pure Magic set was actually released for fall and Halloween but wow, this week I saw Valentine’s written all over it. Don’t you love it when a good idea pops in your head? Mine don’t always work out but this one did and I was way happy! Anyway, it was a very easy card to make.

I stamped the bottles onto the card base first then I stamped them again onto a piece of computer paper and hand cut that set out, creating a mask.  I lightly attached this mask to the top of the jars on the card.

Next I die-cut a heart from computer paper the same size as the card base (I used Hero Arts Infinity Heart dies), making sure to leave enough room around the heart to cover up the card base. (Throw the actual heart into your scrap bin as you will only be using the inside portion of the heart.) I then laid the open heart on top of the masked jars and used my blending tool and a combination of Cotton Candy and Red Royal ink to shade my heart.  Once completed, I removed the heart and jar mask.  The jars were colored with Copic markers. The tiny hearts were from a regular hand held heart paper punch.  The sentiment came from the same set except for the XOXO. Easy, right? Ok, so now the challenge is yours. What do you have that you have only used once and can rework? Can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks for popping in!

XO,

Debi
