Hero Arts Unity Week Release

20 Jul

Hi friends and happy Monday! Today is a different but exciting kind of post because it’s Hero Arts Unity Week. I am featuring some images from the “We Stand With You” release by The Stamping Village, a collective group of stamping companies. This launch is all about positivity, inclusivity and being kind. Good stuff! Please read the intention behind this release because it is so important:

“As a group reflecting our larger community, the Stamping Village believes speaking up and speaking out is required when racial, social and economic injustice exists. Standing up is a vital part of supporting all members of society and the only path towards healing. Standing together, we are committed to listening, learning and change. “

As part of their pledge, the Stamping Village will donate $10,000. for racial justice, $5.00 from every “We Stand with You” stamp set sold will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.

Additionally, this week there is a NEW launch called “United We Stand”, a collaborative set between Dana Joy, Pocono Pam and Hero Arts. Please stop by Hero Arts as Creative Team Member Daniel West shares more of the vision of this release as well as some amazing cards. Dana will be sharing on Monday (today) and Tuesday with Pocono Pam sharing on Monday and Wednesday!

**********

Pretty exciting to see that so many companies are deeply moved to bridge the divide in our world. In reality, it all begins with each one of us desiring to learn more, to educate ourselves, to change the way we might do things and to be the change to others. It means DOING. It means opening our circle wider and being willing to doing things differently even if it’s awkward or uncomfortable. Hard stuff but we can do this together.

Today I’m bringing a few EASY cards to the creative table. Not only is my desire to share project ideas that anyone can create but also to make things that can be given away. With that said, I will be forwarding my cards onto women of color that I have wanted to meet, admired from a far or grown to know better.

Here is my working board…

Here is what the collection looks like…

The first card up completely says it all, it starts with one… Stamp images are by Studio Katia and Avery Elle. Super simple card, with all the colors highlighting how different we all are but how beautiful we are together.

Hero Arts image “We Are All One” is a wonderful design featuring people of all colors. I die-cut the World Window Fancy Die from Dove White cardstock and colored it in with markers and backed it with blue cardstock. I stamped the Hero Arts image on a small strip of white card stock, colored in the people and adhered it to the card.

Talk about super easy but so encouraging! This design was by Gina K. Designs. Cardmaking doesn’t have to be labor intensive unless that’s your passion. I stamped some butterflies in gray ink and two more in Intense Black ink onto the card base. Two additional images were stamped using the darker ink onto a sheet of cardstock. Those two I colored in with markers, cut them out, and adhered them to my card after I had adhered my stamped sentiment.

The minute I saw this sentiment, I knew what I wanted to make. Word imagery is by Pink and Main. I covered a pack of gum with white cardstock and stamped and attached “Stick with Love”. I layered and embellished the cover with the butterfly from Gina K. Designs, rainbow from Studio Katia, and leaves from Altenew, and Nesting Heart Infinity Dies by Hero Arts.

I love puns, if you haven’t noticed from all my posts. 🙂 This one was no exception. A “stick” of gum was perfect for this little treat box of sorts. Again, another quick way to create a little something for someone special.

How great is it that all these designs from different companies are all able to work together? It is my hope that if companies can do this then we as individuals can do the same.

So glad you visited here today!

XO,
