My Monthly Hero Kit Countdown for February 2021

30 Jan

Are you ready for the My Monthly Hero Kit for February? It’s always exciting to see what the Hero Art Room has been up to every month. It’s kind of like a birthday party but without the aging, right? Well here’s a little sneak peek into the theme for this month’s collection. I say let’s all go to any place tropical, especially Hawaii!

I love that there are so many designs packed into this collection for a variety of ways to create. I tried to show quite a few images on this card but believe me, there are lots more! And wait until you see what I worked up with the umbrella… You are invited back on MONDAY when the launch goes LIVE!

Anyway, my tip for you all today is to stamp up all the images on a white sheet of cardstock and die-cut them. Perhaps stamp and die cut a couple of sheets. That way, when you are ready to create, you only need to color in the objects. This is exactly what I did and it saved me a lot of time. I ended up making about 6 cards from this kit and didn’t have to stop to re-ink and stamp.

The palm trees were “colored” with Hero’s fabulous Reactive Inks using a blending tool. My colors were Green Apple, Key Lime Fizz and Lemon Drop. The trunk was colored with Caramel Hybrid ink. Another hint: Coloring this way goes really fast.

The rest of the images were stamped and colored with Copic Markers. I cut out a frame using the Infinity Square Nesting dies, saved the inside piece and created an ocean scene using the water stamp in the set and Pool Party Reactive ink and blending tool for the sky.. To make it look like there were waves, I added squiggles from a white uni-ball pen. The sentiment was stamped onto Pitch Black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. I then trimmed them down and cut them in half so that my message could be in two places.

Because I love polka dots, I used the white pen to embellish the umbrella as well. Sometimes it’s just the littlest details that can make things happier though this collection is fabulous without anything extra! Oh and how sweet is that bird and turtle?

Truth is, the whole set is amazing. Can’t wait for Monday to get here! Hope you will tune back in. If you are wanting to see more sneak peeks, head on over to the Hero Arts blog page. (Here). So many creative people on this team.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Countdown. Leave a comment on each blog post to be entered to win a kit before it’s available to everyone else! We will randomly select one winner on from all the comments left on the posts. Winner is announced on Monday, February 1st, before the kit even launches! Here’s your opportunity my friends!
