The New My Monthly Hero Kit Launch for November 2020, Giveaway and Hop

2 Nov

Well today has finally arrived and the new My Monthly Hero Kit and add-on launch for November by Hero Arts is here! As always, we’re having a blog hop to provide you with inspiration and a *Giveaway* to give you an opportunity to go shopping! Either way, they’re both a deal! I say that’s a great way to start off a Monday. All of the products from this month’s launch are posted at the end of this blog post.

November’s kit is all about winter and holiday stamps and dies and were designed to be used as masks, though they can be stamped and cut as is, too! I showcased my first card here on Saturday that showed a masked card and I am now featuring one that is used without it. Both make cardmaking fun and easy. (Wanting to see how I created Saturday’s card? Scroll on down. I have a picture of the card again and step outs to show you how it works.)

Let’s take a look at what’s in the kit first:

Kit Contents:

• 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set

• 5 Coordinating Frame Cuts

• 6 Coordinating Masking Cuts

• Winter Sky Reactive Ombré Ink Pad

• Red Vine Washi Tape

• Winter Forest Sequins

The kit retails for $86.00 but is now available for $34.99! It is a great value but it is only available while supplies last. Now is the time.

*****

So here is my first card. Super easy with no masking involved. I stamped and embossed the house using gold embossing powder and embossing ink then die-cut the image out. To make this easy, I simply lined up the die with the stamped windows and door. The die cuts right to the edge of the design instead of leaving a border.

I die-cut a navy cardstock circle from the Nesting Circle Infinity Die and splattered it with white acrylic paint and mounted it onto a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Dove White cardstock. I adhered it to the white cardstock using foam dots. Several pieces of vines where die cut from Dove White cardstock and gold poster board and layered up, then attached to the navy circle, approximating where the house would go.

Once in place I attached the house using foam dots. A stamped and gold embossed sentiment on navy card stock finished the look. I placed the entire piece onto a Dove White, top-folded A2 card base. Quick and easy! Perfect assembly line work if wanting to make this for a Christmas or holiday card. 🙂

*****

So here is my card from Saturday’s post. Isn’t he cute? I laugh because he was masked but he has no mask. 😉 Now I will walk you through the masking technique steps…

Begin by die cutting the shape you desire from copy paper (as seen with the bird) and lay it on top of the card stock base you are working with inside your MISTI. The thinner the die-cut paper, the better because it allows the stamped image to get very close to the border of the die cut image. Lightly tack design in place. ( I barely ran my dot runner onto the backside of the bird.)

Line up background image to fit around design.

Stamp image with your choice of ink. It may take a few inkings to get good coverage.

Remove mask from paper. Wa la!

Now line up the coordinating stamp that will fit the image, closing MISTI to secure stamp in place. Ink up image and stamp.

Open cover, remove stamp and you are ready to go!

Pretty easy and impressive, right?

Now here is a goodie bag I made using the same masking technique but with several images. (Apologizing for the “not pretty” image. Shipped the project off before I took a beauty shot but hopefully you get the idea.) I masked the snowman, Christmas tree and holly and then stamped the background. The tricky part was making sure I stamped the masked images in the correct order and reused the masks when I stamped another image. So here is how it went. I first stamped the snowman in Intense Black ink then I put his mask back on. 🙂 Then I stamped the Christmas Tree. The snowman’s mask prevented the tree image from getting on the real snowman. Then I stamped the holly leaves. Again, the snowman kept the rest of the leaves from getting printed. I removed my masked snowman and was ready to add details to the real deal with Copic Markers and die-cut vines.

I never leave my post without featuring a few of the new My Monthly Hero Add-ons because I love them as much as the kit. The first one showcases the Love You Deerly Stamp and Frame cuts combined with the Rolling Hills Window die. This scene is so serene to me. Hoping for more of that this year, right?

And this set highlights the Holiday Blessings sentiment set. The sprinkling of snowflakes came from the Layering Snow Globe Fancy Die. The background was a blending of several reactive inks from the Main kit.

Well there you have it! Another fabulous launch with the opportunity to make it Christmas, seasonal or New Year. You get to make the call! And speaking of call, next up is Ilina Crouse and she has been up to some card crafting goodness. Hope you will take a peek. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway! Details are below.
